If you ask any person who trains BJJ where are they happiest, I guarantee you the answer will be, on the mats! No matter what is bogging down your mind or what stress is on your shoulders, during training all of your anxieties fade away! The peace of training completely rids your mind of your worries. Also, training is a great way to let of steam because of the physically vigorous nature of Jiu Jitsu.

Although it may seem counter intuitive that participating in an exhausting sport would give you more energy, it is in fact, the truth. This is also the fun of Jiu Jitsu though, learning new things you've never seen before. Jiu Jistu is a lifelong journey and the average time to achieve a black belt is ten years, this certainly ingrains patience into us all. I've attended 10 classes in two weeks, Mark identifies adjustments with moves as he sees you progress. There's a welcoming community around the gym. I see many types of students, some who practice once a week, some twice, others more, and some folks stop in for a class if they are in town for only a couple days. Everyone is encouraged to practice the sport as they feel works best for them. If you're considering this gym, don't hesitate to stop in.

Excellent instruction!! I have been attending classes with prof. Hughes for several months now- The classes are challenging and fun. The instruction is top notch and is broken down into easy to understand segments for slower people such as myself. The atmosphere is awesome!! Everyone here has been so helpful and friendly- they make you feel like you are part of their jiu jitsu family. There are no egos here- only friends that want to help you reach your goals- I cant recommend this place enough!

Mark Hughes is a wonderful instructor in the fine art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The gym is clean, it is cozy, and everyone is very welcoming.
